Get-Stas! is led by guitarist, songwriter and producer Marc (‘Stas!’) van der Heijden. Over the past 20 years Marc wrote a lot of songs and played in several bands.
Together with his son Bas van der Heijden, drums, the idea to record an album became reality.

In 2008 they started in their home studio the first recordings of the album ‘And don’t lose it…’
For this album Marc wrote some new songs and rewrote some old songs.
During the recordings they were joined by Marc’s brother Twan van der Heijden on bass.

It took several auditions to find singer Mart Steenbeek, who’s voice matches the songs perfectly.
Most of the older songs where composed with keyboards and Pim van der Neut was found to play the keyboard during the live performances.
After several gigs Pim van der Neut left the band. Without keyboards the sound of Get-Stas! became a bit more basic, but the guitar arrangements from Marc sounds crispier.

In November 2009, the debut album has been officially released in the Netherlands. After the release and the positive reception the album received, the band got an opportunity to give the album a worldwide release. Which means that the album’s promotion and availability has become truly international.

By the end of 2010 Get-Stas! took part of the Emergenza contest. So far with great success. 
On june 18th 2011 Get-Stas! is playing in the Emergenza Benelux Final.
